Airtel Africa’s 2022 report took the top honours in the prestigious Best FTSE 100 Annual Report category. The report presents real customers’ stories in their own language reinforcing how Airtel Africa is transforming lives across sub-Saharan Africa. One judge said “I love the human touch! This report tells a consistent story and depicts the diversity of Airtel’s markets.”

Kantar also took home the gold award – coming out on top of the Best Unlisted Company Annual Report category. After its demerger from WPP, Kantar wanted to engage with stakeholders through a confident, assured inaugural annual report in line with FTSE 100 best practice. One judge praised the “comprehensive overview of the business, including the detailed business model.”

We were also pleased to see Experian’s highly innovative ESEF/XBRL report (now the mandatory format for UK listed companies) take a bronze award for the Best FTSE 100 online report, a category full of attractive summary online reports. Experian’s report is the first ever ESEF/XBRL report to be awarded for communications. It’s a huge digital leap forward compared to all other XBRL reports and shows the future direction of mandatory digital reporting.
