By launching an ambitious new strategy in this year’s report – Powering Progress – the international energy company is sharply accelerating its transition to net-zero emissions.

In a tumultuous environment for large, international energy businesses, the pressure was on for Shell to explain how it was planning to play its part in the energy transition. So in this year’s report, the second we’ve helped the company produce, we built on the significant visual overhaul of ‘year one’, putting together a visually distinctive and engaging articulation of the new ‘Powering Progress’ strategy, which sets out a path to net-zero.

Data is king: While the report offers an extensive narrative overview of sustainability progress and plans, it also offers several useful data tables for those stakeholders most interested in the raw numbers.

Powering progress: The same clear and differentiated graphical language was used across the reporting suite to explain the core tenets of Shell’s net-zero-focused strategy.

Keeping it focused: The core of the report is the business’ plan to achieve net-zero emissions – this comprehensive chapter sets out the progress made so far, and concrete plans for the future.
