Launching the Annual report on announcement day is a challenge that the Standard Chartered and Friend team rise to each year. It takes incredible planning, collaboration and skill from everyone involved. But for the latest report, there was also the additional requirement to prepare the report in full digital xHTML for ESEF (replacing PDF as the official format).

To fully comply with the mix of disclosure rules, the digital ESEF report needed to be created, filed and published at the same time as the PDF report was launched. Working with leading reporting software and specialist partners our XBRL team delivered the full package within the tight timeframe, an achievement recognised by Vance Duhaney, the team director at Standard Chartered who emailed to say, “I just wanted to thank you, in particular for pulling out all the stops last night/this morning to get us over the line – our announcements and the ESEF listings would not have been possible without you being with us every step of the way – thank you!”
And by Thomas Toomse-Smith, the FRC’s Head of Innovation and Digital, “Congratulations to you and Standard Chartered. Very impressive to see it out there and all on the same day as well – a high bar!”

The home of annual reports: Standard Chartered’s annual reports in ESEF format appeared on the FCA’s National Storage Mechanism (NSM) from 5am on prelims day, ensuring that all stakeholders had access to the full report in the new digital format as early as possible.

A comprehensive suite: All published on the same day as the results announcement, we worked alongside Standard Chartered’s team in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Chennai and Washington DC to create the full suite including the PLC annual report, Bank annual report, online versions, Pillar 3 report, TCFD report, other ESG documents and the Press release.
