With testing conditions in its vital North American market, Rentokil Initial’s 2024 annual report sets out its strategic priorities to secure growth across the global business.

We worked with the Rentokil Initial team to improve the accessibility of the report, elevating the issues of most importance to investors.

Tackling the big questions

Right up front, the CEO addresses the probing questions posed by investors head on, addressing topics such as digital lead flow, customer retention, the integration of Terminix, and investment in technology.

Securing sustainable growth

The five strategic priorities are set out immediately after the CEO’s Q&A, with details of progress in delivering organic growth in North America and the integration of Terminix – a major acquisition in 2022 - given prominence.

Leadership in innovation

Rentokil leads the industry in the use of technology, and innovation is now a key growth enabler across its global Pest Control business. For example, connected monitoring systems deliver AI-driven, data-powered solutions that improve efficiency, resolution times, precision and sustainability in pest management – one of the topics explored in the Pest Control strategy section.

Focus on Hygiene and Wellbeing

Strategy disclosure for the organisation’s Initial brand centres on differentiating factors such as operational excellence and innovation, as well as M&A activity to accelerate growth in new markets, build customer density and extend services.

Global reporting

Regional performance reviews are extracted directly from the results announcement, and are presented in an accessible form that balances performance in North America with all other operating regions – bracketed under the new aggregate grouping of International.

Responsible business is good business

Protecting people, enhancing lives and preserving the planet – the company’s mission – is a serious business, reinforced with the CEO’s introduction.
