In collaboration with Friend Studio, Oakley Capital Investments (OCI) has launched its latest annual report, marking a major milestone in best practice digital-first ESEF reporting.

Digital-first

OCI’s 2023 report is fully interactive, maximising the engagement potential of the ESEF format with all the online features that audiences expect from digital. This new approach to ESEF also delivers more user-friendly iXBRL tagging and improvements in data quality, which is better for machine analysis and AI.

Improved compliance and communications

Reflecting the latest regulatory guidance, the report has been created digital-first, with all versions (online, PDF, filing) delivered from a single source of content. For Oakley, this new type of report offers a transformed digital user experience and improved accessibility compliance.

A sustainable choice for shareholders

OCI no longer prints or mails any reports which reduces its carbon impact. The PDF and digital reports are available on the OCI website, and shareholders have the choice to request a print-on-demand copy if needed.

Transition to a digital process

Digital-first reporting requires minimal change to processes. The biggest change involves the software used by the reporting design agency. The design is led by digital requirements, and throughout the process, the content, design, editing and tagging is completed in a single integrated system.

Digital-first software enables us to transform the mandatory digital format into engaging, interactive and fully accessible reporting. For companies that choose digital, it also offers more compliant, efficient and timely reporting than print-based software.

Next generation software

OCI’s latest report is created in Reportl, a new generation of reporting software, which enables corporate and sustainability reporting to take a leap forward into the digital age – full digital compliance and communications in one.

What are the benefits of digital-first ESEF reporting?

OCI’s report showcases the impressive capabilities of the mandatory digital ESEF/CSRD format. As these regulations inevitably drive reporting from print-based software to digital-first processes, there will be many benefits for companies and stakeholders, including:

→ Advanced digital reporting in ESEF/CSRD format

→ Fully interactive (navigation, video, mobile friendly)

→ Simpler, more integrated process

→ Online, PDF, filing, print - from single source of content

→ Accessibility compliant

→ Google friendly

→ Improved compliance and best practice

→ Better quality data (iXBRL)

→ Efficiency and consistency

Note. Oakley Capital's reporting is built in native XHTML which is recommended by XBRL standard setters and regulators. This ensures full ESEF and accessibility compliance which isn't possible when we use print-based PDF software.
