Friend has completed the redesign of the Invest Europe website, concluding a two-and-a-half-year programme to transform one of the private equity industry's largest and most complex digital platforms into a modern, audience-first experience optimised for discovery, engagement and future AI-powered search.

As the association representing the private equity, venture capital and infrastructure sectors across Europe, Invest Europe produces an extensive range of research, policy papers, industry insight, events and training. As this content library continued to grow, the challenge became less about creating information and more about helping users discover it.

Rather than simply redesigning the website, we began by asking a more fundamental question: how should people consume Invest Europe's content?

A comprehensive research programme, including analytics, SEO audits, content and component reviews, peer benchmarking, stakeholder workshops and member surveys, revealed an opportunity to rethink the platform from the ground up. Instead of organising information around internal departments, we created an audience-first information architecture that behaves more like a modern media platform, enabling users to browse content by topic, relevance and interest rather than organisational structure.

The new platform combines advanced search, intelligent filtering, richer use of video and data, and a flexible content model that makes Invest Europe's growing knowledge base easier to discover and navigate. Alongside a comprehensive SEO strategy, the site has been structured to improve AI readability, helping ensure the organisation's research and thought leadership remain discoverable as search increasingly evolves towards AI-powered experiences.

The scale of the transformation reflects the ambition of the project. Over 2.5 years, the programme delivered 400+ pages, 100+ reusable components, 1,000+ publications, 400 news articles, 250 case studies, 250 embedded videos and 85 events and training courses, creating a scalable platform designed to support Invest Europe's future growth.

The launch represents another milestone in Friend's long-standing partnership with Invest Europe and demonstrates how strategic research, information architecture and digital design can transform complex content ecosystems into engaging, audience-focused digital experiences.
