Airtel Africa provides essential voice, data and mobile money services to countries across sub-Saharan Africa, where societies are often underserved by telecoms and banking infrastructure. Airtel is transforming lives, enabling greater connectivity, digitisation and financial inclusion.

The company’s latest reporting suite is transforming reporting – the FTSE 100’s first multi-format, digital-first iXBRL report. It has been created in Reportl, our innovative, next-generation design software that simultaneously creates fully compliant and accessible digital, PDF and print reporting with iXBRL tagging, through instant multichannel outputs from a single source content. Airtel Africa’s annual report and sustainability report were both created in Reportl, and both published on the same day.

The shift to a digital-first process was seamless for the Airtel team, who were able to edit live via the secure Reportl platform, just like in previous years using the traditional print-first method. Our team has stepped up a gear to create dynamic designs that optimise the opportunity of the digital-first, multi-format approach. Key to this was the use of video – sourced in collaboration with Airtel’s brand team, cut from existing videos that had been created for marketing campaigns and internal communications – depicting an authentic Africa.

Our partnership with Airtel Africa began in the run up to the company’s listing on the London and Nigeria stock exchanges. Since then, we’ve worked closely with their team in London, Dubai, Lagos and Nairobi to create and deliver award-winning reporting, including the prestigious ‘Best FTSE 100 annual report’ at the Corporate & Financial Awards in Airtel’s first year among the LSE’s elite.
